Lids Making

The lid stamping line is a complete automatic forming unit for metal can lids. Compatible with tinplate, tin-free steel and stainless steel sheets, it manufactures various round, square and special-shaped metal lids, including top and bottom lids for lock-seam cans, food can lids, gift can lids, trash can covers and end caps for rice cooker shells.

The entire line achieves full automation from coil loading to finished lid unloading with minimal manual labor. It delivers high forming precision and scratch-free lid surfaces. Equipped with dust removal, automatic oil coating and scrap recycling units, the line meets hygiene specifications for food packaging.

Standard Core Process Flow

  • Raw Material Feeding

Different feeders are configured to suit raw materials in coil, strip or full-sheet formats.

  • Stamping & Blanking

Multi-station progressive dies complete lid blank blanking in a single operation to separate finished blanks from edge scraps, which are automatically shredded and recycled.

  • Lid Drawing & Forming

Multi-stage drawing stations stretch flat blanks to form lid depth and step profiles, matching dimensional requirements for subsequent lock-seam assembly and curling.

  • Trimming  & Sizing

Excess flash from drawing is trimmed off, and the roundness or squareness of lid mouths is calibrated to maintain uniform dimensions for tight sealing with can bodies later.

  • Drying

A drying oven rapidly cures the dispensed gasket compound.

  • Automatic Sorting & Stacking of Finished Products

Qualified stamped lids are conveyed and automatically stacked layer by layer for packaging by operators or robotic arms. Defective products are automatically diverted and rejected.
